The Story Behind SILKSY: A Personal Need Turned Innovation
As a Registered Nurse, entrepreneur, wife, and mother, my journey to creating SILKSY was deeply personal. In 2016, I developed melasma—a condition marked by large pigmentation patches on the face. Sun protection became a priority, but I refused to let it come at the cost of my hair’s health.
That’s when I discovered the power of satin-lined hats in preventing frizz and breakage. Yet, the market lacked options that met my standards of quality, breathability, and versatility. Determined to fill the gap, I created SILKSY, the first hat brand specializing in rayon satin lining—a natural, plant-based material that elevates hair care without compromising on fashion.
